Director of Children's Ministry

First Presbyterian Church of Ambler Pennsylvania is currently seeking interested applicants for the position of Director of Children’s Ministry. Ministry to children and youth is one of our church’s very highest priorities and one of the primary components of our growth and vitality as a church family.

The Position: The Director of Children’s Ministry is an administering, planning, teaching, and nurturing, position that requires the capacity to build teams and work collaboratively with many different constituencies. The position is both challenging and enormously rewarding and holds the opportunity to change the trajectory of countless lives for Christ simply by affecting one student.

To be successful in this position, one must have a firm foundation in Jesus Christ. That provides the energy and context for all that we do.

 
First Presbyterian Church of Ambler has almost 700 active members including many families with young children who support a vibrant Sunday School community. The Sunday School has experienced great success using the Workshop Rotation Model based curriculum but is open to innovation and change.

Applicants for this position should have a bachelor’s degree and a record of experience in children’s ministry. Prior to 2008, this has been a part-time position. We believe that it can be a full time position for the right candidate. The successful candidate will have the challenge of maintaining the momentum of an already successful program along with the opportunity to expand and grow it into other areas including ministry to families with young children.
