ADULT CHRISTIAN EDUCATION:  Start Out the New Year in a Bible Study Group!  Plans are underway for two new Bible study groups for adults. We’re adding a new evening study in the New Year.  Beginning Thursday, January 22nd, Pete Brockman will lead an examination of prayer, using the DVD curriculum, The Four Acts of Prayer, authored by Dr. Walter Wangerin.  The 9:30 Sunday adult class used this video, and there aren’t enough superlatives to describe the power of Dr. Wangerin’s illumination of prayer.  Certainly, prayer is so simple an act that a child can do it.  But, as adults, we must grow in prayer so that we become more in tune with the prayer that God will bring from our hearts.  This 10-week study uses scripture, class activities and journaling to help participants grow in their prayer lives.

On Thursday mornings beginning February 5th, we’ll be studying Genesis.  Let’s face it, the Bible begins with a bang!  In the first few chapters it addresses life’s most important questions:  What is God like?  Why am I here?  How did it all begin?  Where is it all going?  Genesis: Discovering God’s Answers to Life’s Ultimate Questions by Bruce Bickel and Stan Jantz will serve as the basis for our study.

A flyer in your mailbox will give more details, but you can sign up now by calling the church office.
